Rooted is a community for queer, gender-awesome, non-binary, and trans youth ages 14-16
Imagine spending four days in the beautiful mountains of Colorado with other gender-expansive teens, where you can hike, create, sing, explore, and just be yourself. Rooted is a chance to find community, connect with nature, and feel truly at home in your wild, awesome self.
Every human belongs and deserves to grow into their authentic self, just as every tree in the forest spreads branches, sinks into soil, and intertwines roots with other trees around. Through play, art, song, story, and ceremony, Rooted Youth will grow deepening roots of connection to themselves as an inextricable part of their wider webs of belonging.
Queer and trans Rooted mentors and Wild Mountain guides will offer an intergenerational and inter-gender-ational container to hold, reflect, support and embolden our Rooted Youth. We are here to offer gender-creative youth a place of refuge, a community of care, and a space of welcome for their continued, wild emergence.
Details:
Rooted will take place at Wild Mountain, located in southern Colorado, tucked into the remote mountains and expansive forests. The nearest town is Buena Vista. Specific location and directions will be provided to participants. Click here to learn more about Wild Mountain.
Campers will arrive at Wild Mountain, Wednesday June 24th between 12:00-2:00pm and depart Saturday, June 27th by 4pm. Travel details and carpooling will be arranged after we have the group registered.
All meals, snacks, and plenty of fresh water will be provided. Accommodating dietary restrictions and allergies can be discussed at registration.
A packing list will be provided, and while we encourage participants to bring their own gear, we do have camping gear that can be loaned if needed. We do not want a need for materials to limit anyone’s participation.

Program Sliding Scale/Tiers: $400 - $700 - $1000
$300 Food/Camping/Material fee have been included in program cost
Scholarships Available- please inquire if needed
Deposit: $150 non refundable and non-transferable unless program is cancelled.
